Knitted Blanket and Booties for Betsy
January 22, 2007

We have 4 dear grandchildren now and are SO thankful to God for them-they are a huge blessing and joy to us. For each grandchild, I have made a cloth quilt and knitted blanket. (well, Betsy is 8 months old and just got her knitted blanket and is still waiting for her cloth quilt. Come on, Nona) I finished the knitted blanket recently. I am a beginning knitter, and it is a pattern I found in Knitting for Babies, by Melanie Falick and Kristin Nicholas.

It is shades of browns, and burgundy, out of wool- her mother chose the colors. It came out nicely.

I also have been knitting her some booties from the same book- very simple- I have made a few pair, with silk ribbons. Here is one pair-

It is a joy to be able to make these things for them, and I look forward to getting more accomplished in knitting and trying more things!

I missed the stuffed bears in your previous post, I love them. The blanket & booties look so warm and snuggley, perfect for this cold spell.
