Knitting my first vests
February 13, 2007

I learned to knit about 3 years ago and have mostly been knitting scarves. I found a great vest pattern from Morehouse Farm and ordered it- the Bumble Bee Vest. It came with the softest, nicest merino wool from their farm- I LOVE the smell! I knitted it in soft gray and yellow. Our grandson Peter can wear it! (It came out a bit on the short side!) But nice and warm for cold mornings!

Then I made another for Jonathan with some nice off white and brown wool- I told him it is a chocolate and vanilla vest!

My goal for this year is to begin comfortably and happily knitting IN THE ROUND- I am inspired by the many posts on Zimmermania! I especially hope to try Elizabeth Zimmermann's pattern for the Baby Surprise Jacket. We will see!
