Life has just been extremely busy, so posting has come last for me.
Last Saturday, June 2, ran up a nearby mountain in a neat trail run- a 25k - put on by Pacific Coast Trail Runs- . It was all the way to the top of the mountain, then all the way down. The scenery was beautiful, the other runners were friendly and kind, the aid station helpers were great- it was a superb day!
Two other runners from that day have posted their stories of their runs- Scott and Adama. Adama, from the deserts of Arizona- on an Air Force base there- had a huge smile on his face all the way up, despite how hard the climb was- he loved the trees and the scenery- much nicer than what he is used to! Here is a picture he took of my daughter and I on the way up -

I am very happy to know that this mountain is close enough for training runs- it has 100 miles of trails on it!
We had a great day and are so thankful to be able to do runs like this. Thanks to the great group who ran the race!

Hey Kate, I had a great time running with y'all. Nice post. I'm thinking about doing a 30K, I think it's called the Redwood Park Trail Run in August.
