Quilt for British friends
April 29, 2008

Earlier this year, some of our dearest friends were expecting their first baby, so I wanted to make them a special quilt. The father is from Scotland, the mother from England. I found a picture similar to the one above of the Grampian hills, and decided to make a freeform quilt like the hills, with moor, fen, fells, burns, heather, gorse, lochs and torrents.

This is the tag I made from an old linen for the back of the quilt.
And here is the quilt-

They loved the gift, and the new baby girl is enjoying it, too.
